Real Dives.
Real Gear.
No Hype.
Sidemount Authority is the home of the AXIS Method — a diagnostic framework built on one principle: when alignment is restored, complexity collapses.
The AXIS is not a concept. It is a measurable condition.
Stability is an outcome, not a skill. Correction indicates failure. A correct system does not require constant input. These are not opinions — they are standards
Founded by Turk — RAID Crossover Instructor Trainer, Tech Trimix Sidemount Instructor, creator of the AXIS Method, who spends real time in the configuration, testing gear the way it’s actually used — underwater, under load, over many dives. — Sidemount Authority exists for divers who are done compensating and ready to resolve their diving at the system level.

Why “Authority”?
Not because there’s one right way to dive sidemount — there isn’t. The name is a commitment: every guide, review, and recommendation here is grounded in actual instructor-level experience, checked against what’s taught in current RAID curriculum, and updated when gear or best practice changes. No recycled spec sheets. No recommending gear that hasn’t been in the water.
The configuration itself doesn’t make the diver. Time in the water, properly taught fundamentals, and a system that is properly aligned will always matter more than if you are in backmount or sidemount.
Credentials & Experience
Sidemount Authority is built on instructor-level training credentials, not just personal diving experience. The guidance here reflects what’s actually taught at the instructor level — not just what works for one diver’s body and style.
